Five Sweet Desserts at Turtle Bay Resort

Posted on Sun, 2019/10/13 - 12:45pm by Jessica Gellert

Life is sweeter with dessert!  You have palm trees, ocean views and spectacular sunsets at Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu’s famous North Shore. But, your stay will be even more scrumptious if you let yourself indulge in some of our signature desserts!

Our Top Five Favorite Sweet Treats available at Turtle Bay Resort

Roy's Beach House Chocolate Souffle

Roy’s Beach House - Chocolate Souffle

Roy’s Beach House, located right on the beach, makes a chocolate souffle that will have you speechless.  The souffle takes 25 minutes to bake, but it is well worth the wait. Once it is out of the oven, you have a 5 minute window to dig into the chocolate mound and have the gooey chocolate center ooze out ready to wow and delight.

The crisp chocolate shell paired with the gooey splendid center is sure to make you lick your lips. It’s that good and not overbearing. Make sure you order it next time you dine at Roy’s Beach House, You won’t regret it.

Lei Lei's Mac nut pie

Lei Lei’s - Macadamia Nut Pie

You’re in Hawaii so you better have a dessert with fresh Hawaiian grown macadamia nuts!  Lei Lei’s Macadamia Nut Pie is made on the Big Island by Kona Mac-Pie - so they know their pies!  “

“This pie is fashioned after a Traditional Southern Chess Pie, which is a version of an Old English Custard Pie, or “Butter Cream”, explained Lei Lei’s owner Mike. “ It is crafted with Local Macadamia Nuts and other premium island ingredients; Maui Raw Sugar, Fresh Hawaiian Eggs, Fresh Creamery Butter, along with Pure double-fold Madagascar Vanilla and a light dusting of finely Shredded Coconut.”

Okay, are you drooling with us yet? The Macadamia Nut Pie is served warm, with a Scoop of Oregon “Cascade” Premium Vanilla Ice cream, and a drizzle of fresh caramel sauce.  The Macadamia Nut pie is available after 11:00 a.m. (sorry, you can’t have it for breakfast!)

Banana Bread

The Lobby Lounge - Banana Bread

Here’s a treat you CAN have for breakfast! The Lobby Lounge is a favorite stop for guests before they head out to explore the island of Oahu. Here you can grab fresh brewed Hawaiian coffee, espresso beverages and tropical pastries. If we had to choose one you HAD to taste, we would say the Banana Bread. The Banana Bread is prepared from scratch and contains fresh bananas and macadamia nuts. It is smothered with creamy butter right when it comes out of the oven so it melts into the loaf, making it extra moist. But there’s one secret ingredient some people don’t even notice is in the bread - it’s Hawaiian pineapple.

The pineapple makes it even more onolicious (Hawaiian slang for very, very, very delicious).

The banana bread is so popular it sells out daily. The kitchen bakes about 60 loaves a week. There is no better way to start off your day than with this sweet treat.

The Point Milkshakes

The Point Sunset & Pool Bar - Milkshakes

Ice cream, Ice cream, don’t we all scream for ice cream!? The Point Sunset & Pool Bar serves up amazing milkshakes made with ice cream and aloha. There are six sweet  flavors to choose from: chocolate, strawberry, pineapple, banana and papaya.

The shakes have two simple ingredients: ice cream and ice, making them extra thick and creamy. If milkshakes aren’t your thing, you could always opt for one of The Point’s fruit smoothies (we love coconut) or virgin drinks (lava flow with no alcohol).  If a cocktail is your kind of dessert, you can check out the drink menu or even better, get some cocktail recipes to make at home here

Chocolate Macaroon

Turtle Bay Resort’s  Signature Macaroons

Our guests go nuts for our coconut macaroons. We don’t blame them. These cookies are pretty amazing.  They are made of fresh coconut and are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

You can only order them through private dining and can choose to get them plain or hand-dipped in dark chocolate. Which way would you prefer?
