With Launch of North Shore Kula Grille Restaurant
NORTH SHORE, OAHU, HI (April 4, 2013) – Turtle Bay Resort, the only destination resort on Oahu’s fabled North Shore, is offering a fresh selection of farm-to-table dishes, complimented by redesigned décor and renovations, at the new North Shore Kula Grille Restaurant, opening in early April.
Kula Grille’s breakfast and dinner menus feature ingredients sourced from Hawaii waters, as well as more than a dozen local farms, ranches, breweries and distilleries. Guests can choose from a “farmer’s market” of fresh vegetables, fruits and dressings; as well as premium meats and seafood with sauces inspired by popular Hawaii flavors such as macadamia nuts, pineapple and coconut.
Dinner offerings include dishes unique to the North Shore, such as sauteed island snapper with seared oi’I poke, as well as Keahole lobster salad. The breakfast and dessert menus highlight the seasonality of Hawaii’s fruits, with selections such as Belgium Kula strawberry waffles and the lilikoi passion fruit tart.
“We are embracing the wide array of ingredients available in Hawaii to offer peak freshness, as well as to eliminate the higher carbon imprint of importing food, and to educate guests about the flavors of the islands,” said Chef Conrad Aquino. “We love the ever-changing selection of fresh local seafood and Kauai shrimp, as well as Big Island lobsters, abalone and kampachi, featured in everything from appetizers, and entrees to salads. Our wide array of fresh fruits and vegetables reflects the state’s rich agricultural history.”
Kula Grille’s menus include products and specialty items from local farms and suppliers including:
· Ho Farms (Kahuku, Oahu): Tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and okra
· Marine AgriFuture (Kahuku, Oahu): Sea asparagus and limu ogo
· Nozawa Farms (Kahuku, Oahu): Corn
· Twin Bridge Farms (Waialua, Oahu): Asparagus and potatoes
· Ka Lei Foods (Honolulu, Oahu): Eggs
· Poamoho Organic Produce (Waialua, Oahu): Organic fruits, avocado, mango, ulu, lychee, papaya, long egg plant, apple banana, luau leaf
· Kolea Farm (North Shore, Oahu): Organic salad greens, lemons, parsley, daikon, kale, Swiss chard
· Higa Meats (Honolulu, Oahu): Grass-fed Kulana beef (Big Island)
· Kula Country Farms (Kula, Maui): Onions, carrots, watermelon radish, local beets, Big Island hearts of palm
Kula Grille takes the place of the former Palm Terrace/Leonardo’s restaurant as part of the resort’s ongoing multi-million dollars in renovations and upgrades to be completed by fall 2013. The redesigned restaurant features natural décor in the spirit of its new menus, with wood accents and the cool blues and greens of the nearby ocean and farmland, as well as a new bar. Versitile seating allows for the flexible accommodation of groups and meetings, as well as the availability of more intimate dinner settings, with capacity for 120 guests.

The completion of the North Shore Kula Grille is the latest milestone in Turtle Bay Resort’s ongoing multi-million-dollar renovation that includes upgrades to all of the 840-acre resort’s standard and premium guest rooms and hallways; the Spa Luana and fitness center; and improvements to the main building roof and lobby area.
