We are all hungry for the details about Celebrity Chef Roy Yamaguchi’s latest endeavor, Roy’s Beach House, which is scheduled to open on Turtle Bay Resort’s Bay View Beach later this summer.
Chef Roy hosted a sneak peek of some of the items that will be on his new menu at an intimate gathering May 25th.
“I’m not here to change the world. I’m here to give a great experience for those who want to enjoy the ocean,” Roy told the group. “I love a nice hot dog and hamburger. So we are gonna have a nice hot dog, burger and a Rueben sandwich.”
Roy’s Beach House will include a take-out window where guests can walk up and order hot dogs, sandwiches, hamburgers, salads and even shave-ice.
“It’s my first take-out ever. I’m excited about that. It will be a fun place to be and fun place to hang out.”

Chef de Cuisine Anthony Phillips has brought the home cooking he was raised on to a new level, pairing his favorite meals with some island flavor.
“It seems everything is farm-to-table these days,” said Phillips. “Our menu is more island-to-table because we are incorporating items grown, produced and made here in Hawaii.”
I had to ask him about the new menu he launched April 15.
Q: Congrats on the new menu! It looks amazing! Which new dish is your favorite?
Earlier this week, it was announced that Turtle Bay Resort had finalized a deal that would preserve just under 500 acres of farmland on Oahu’s North Shore from development, helping to create a more sustainable North Shore. To be sure, this is a monumental move for the area and ensures that the land retains its country vibe, all the while supporting local farmers.
