Turtle Bay Resort’s Kawela Gallery will feature Photographer Lisa Tirimacco this Fall. The gallery will showcase her ocean art from September 1 - November 15, 2019.
Tirimacco fell in love with the Pacific Ocean and all its mesmerizing beauty during her first SCUBA dive in the Great Barrier Reef while studying abroad in Australia. From that moment on, the Pennsylvania native was hooked on experiencing the underwater world, so much so, she spent time in Fiji and O’ahu getting her SCUBA certification.
In 2013, Lisa proved her love for the ocean when she left her land-locked mainland corporate job and moved to Hawai’i to pursue her true passion — exploring life beneath the sea and capturing it for all the world to experience.
We were lucky to recently connect with Lisa to learn more about her art and photography-style in a one-on-one with the artist:
Turtle Bay Resort: How long have you been into photography?
Lisa: I have been actively shooting for 3 years now; started shooting about 6 years ago.
Turtle Bay Resort: What inspires you?
Lisa: The beauty and movement of the ocean, the waves, the currents, humans and the animals; pretty much anything on and in the water.
Turtle Bay Resort: Any advice for those wanting to pursue photography?
Lisa: Just go shoot. Find what you love to shoot and keep shooting. Get out as much as possible and just shoot.
