Since 2012, The Turtle Bay Foundation has given more than $382,000 in scholarships and grants to North Shore students and non-profit organizations.
The Foundation was created to make a difference in the North Shore and Ko’olualoa communities.
Letters from past recipients share how the foundation is reaching its goal to make the region a better place.
“You have lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus more on the important aspect of school, learning. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.” – Marivic Agustin, Waialua HIS, Class of 2017 “
"This opportunity is important and allows students to make more connections with their peers and build respect and tolerance to all students in the school. These same teammate support diversity and kindness on our school campus. We proudly sponsored a UNITY Day where our team had the entire school sign a pledge for unity and acceptance. Our community is better for these kids and their compassion, healthy athleticism, and their ability to work together.”- Waialua Special Olympics Team
Building on its commitment to supporting the North Shore community, the Foundation more than doubled the number of awardees (108%) and increased its financial support by 22% in 2016 compared to 2015.
The plan for 2017 is to keep giving more to the community.
“The future of Ko‘olauloa and the North Shore is important to us all at Turtle Bay Resort. We’re truly honored to give back to our community and help support these deserving recipients in fulfilling their future goals,” said Danna Holck, a Foundation Board Member, and Vice President and General Manager of Turtle Bay Resort.
